Valve are sitting on a veritable gold mine with porting older games to Source 2, especially TF2, and aren't porting any of them.
I know, I know, it'd be a massive undertaking, but man, the entire community would go insane.

You forgot about dota 2 Thats uses source 2 for a while, also half life alyx ia Full playabe with no VR mod, and why theres no source 2 more, simple, the world Works arround money, CS has skin, dota also has Skins, tf2 also does, but dont sell as much as CS or dota, like half life, left 4 dead, portal, they Sony make money, besides that, half life 1 we have Black mesa, also half life and left 4 dead left Valve, and no back 4 blood hás almos none Valve devs, like 5 or 6, If Valve see that the game Will get them money, Will get a remake on source 2, If dont why bother ?

I feel like Source 2 is a wasted engine. It's already fairly old. It's nearly as old as UE 4 and only few games have been released for it. Of course it's very capable and it doesn't have an expiration date per se but there are better engines out already. The first Source engine had some top tier level flagship games to represent it on time and I feel like Source 2 is misrepresented by its own creators

With source 2 we might get half life and portal 3 but for that to happen valve needs to figure out the number 3 first

Portal 2 looks great, in fact, better than the other games made in source and portal mods like Portal 2: Comunity Edition and Desolation improve the lighting and make it look great! Portal in source 2 would still be nice, though.
