NOTES: The information about ungrouping by double-clicking is incorrect, at least in recent versions of Inkscape. What double-clicking actually does is ‘enter’ the group so you can edit the constituent parts. You can then ‘exit’ by double-clicking somewhere outside it - I usually just double-click on the canvas or window background away from any other objects to avoid any side effects from my clicking. How to Hide or Show the Scroll Bars in Windows 10 Start Menu, Settings or Apps [Tutorial]. As you may have noticed, in Windows 10, when you start the Start menu, the Settings app or when working in a Store App, the scroll bar is invisible by default and only appears when you move the cursor to the right side of the open window. This behavior was a little annoying and thankfully Microsoft in the latest Windows 10 1803 feature update(April 2018) added the option to always display the scroll bar in all open windows (for example, in the Start menu in the Settings app, etc.). This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

On newer installations of Adobe Illustrator you may notice that you only have a single row of basic tools indexed in your toolbar. You may also notice that your system tools and tool settings menu is missing as well. All you have to do to remedy this problem is navigate to Windows, Toolbar, and change the display from "Basic" to "Advanced". Once enabled, all of your tools will be accessible in your toolbar. Now if you prefer the streamlined look of the Basic toolbar you can still access all of your tools, you'll just have to use this little sub menu down here represented by three little dots. Clicking on that will expand a sub menu that provides access to all of your tools. As for the system tools and the tool settings menu, all you have to do to enable that is navigate to Window, select Control, and the menus should populate near the top of your screen. Notes: The visible banding of gradients and loss of definition of small shapes in this video, is due to the video compression, not an issue with Inkscape or the tutorial. Using textures in Inkscape is a wonderful way to construct your card buildings when you are scratch building for your model railway, whether you model in N Gauge, 00 Gauge, O Gauge, or just about any scale. Textures let you fill your drawing shapes with realistic or photographic surfaces to make your scratch built buildings have an added sense of realism. There can be some challenges with Inkscape when you are working with textures, and there are techniques you can use to improve your textures by adding an extra layer of 3D realism. In this video I show you how. In this video I answer three questions that have been posed by viewers in the comments sections of my recent videos. These texture-based Inkscape questions are: ADDING 3D EFFECTS: How I used a simple technique on my scratch-built iron girder bridge to make the rusty old girders look like real 3D I-beams rather than simple printed bits of card. TILING SMALL DOWNLOADED TEXTURES: I show you how you can take a downloaded texture file and tile it many times to fill a shape for your model building scratch-build, and some hints to make this the right size for your scale, and keep it the right size. Repeatedly joining a downloaded texture to itself is really simple using the Pattern tool. KEEPING FILE SIZES SMALL: If you have used textures in Inkscape before, you may have found that the Inkscape SVG file can get very large. Large files are slow to open and slow to save. Copy and paste is also affected. In this final answer, I show you three tips that you can use to keep your file sizes small when you are working with textures in Inkscape for your own scratch-built card buildings, including an introduction to the Clone tool. Please consider giving this video a thumbs up, as this is the only way I can tell that my videos are useful, and it encourages me to make more videos in future. Thanks for watching! If any of my videos have helped you learn Inkscape, or inspired you to use Inkscape for your own buildings, please let me know. I'd love to feature your buildings on a future video. 00:00 Add 3D effects 08:21 Tiling downloaded textures 17:14 Keeping file sizes small

Beginners guide to converting your logo to freeCAD Part 1 of 4. Do you have an image of your logo that you want to print on your 3D Printer or cut on your CNC machine. Or maybe you just want to create a 3D model of it. This tutorial is for you. We go from an image of your logo to a nice shinny textured logo in freeCAD 0.1.18 or 0.1.19. and above. In video 1 we take your image of a logo, in this case a logo that I found on the internet for education purposes. This is a image in JPEG format. When then convert this to vector using inkscape's trace bitmap feature. We spend some time learning how to use this feature to get the best result then we export this out the a SVG. In our next video we import the SVG into FreeCAD but, we hit a few problems and I show you how to resolve them.
